ARTIST BIO
Dan Weiss is an academic artist living on the outskirts of Charlottesville, Virginia. He practiced illustration in Lansing, Michigan before joining the Marines and has a PhD in Classical Art and Archaeology from the University of Virginia.
He draws maps and plans of antiquity when he has to, chipmunks and raccoons when he wants to.
He has a tiny "studio" in the corner of the craft room, but you're more likely to find him in the woods.
Back Yard Blanc Noir started out as whimsical drawings of story ideas while in the woods or in his tiny backyard.

Scotty Rittenhouse, 34 years old, grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He just recently moved to Charlottesville. The work displayed is a pencil series composed from 2011 to the present.
